Italian lullaby/love song

I'm not sure if this would be better posted at multilingual, but it's not strictly a language question, so...

What I was looking for originally was an Italian lullaby. So I googled -- found waaay more than I need, mostly in Italian, which I don't understand. Used Babelfish on them, which helped. Sort of. Except, I guess, silly little me forgot the fact that lullabies are usually silly or at least happy... (:P)

So. Change in plans. But I can't figure out a good way to effectively narrow down my searches on Google to find what I want. I'm hoping someone here can give me a hand.

What I'm looking for now, basically, is either:

1) If one actually exists, a traditional Italian lullaby or children's folk song with darker tones (either blatantly or something that could be interpreted in a darker way, I suppose)

2) A popular Italian love song, preferably from WWI/1920s-ish (but not necessary as my story takes place in a future parallel universe of sorts anyway), that could reasonably be sung to a young child.

Lyrics (with translations) would be really awesome, but I can do without either or both. Just a title will suffice, although what I'm after here of course is really the lyrics... (If all else fails, I will write one myself! XP)

Thanks in advance for any help!
