writing male characters

I realize that the best way to write a character is to see them as a person before you see their gender or their age or anything. But I saw that this post about how to write female characters got some very good replies, and so I'm curious - does anyone have any tips for women writing male characters?

The main character in my WIP is male, nineteen and practically a college drop-out. While it's not a huge concern of mine, I am a little worried about unintentionally writing something that makes it obvious the author is female. Any ideas about how to avoid that?

Thanks. :)
