French Clothing & Masks

Okay guys. My google-fu is pathetic, and my study of the Force hasn't finished yet, so...

Where can I find detailed information (esp pictures) of standard 19th century garb for both men and women? It isn't a huge deal, but I'd like to get my facts straight for a fanfic I'm writing (because uninformed writers annoy me). In case you're wondering, it's a Phantom of the Opera-based fic, which leads me to my next question. Would it be possible for a mask to be made which would not be immediately obvious to passersby that something is "wrong?" A hooded cloak and such things could be procured, but still... also, where would one get such a mask?

Thanks everybody!
