My story has decided that it wants to take place in a reasonable facsimile of medieval France, as opposed to medieval England or a twisted hybrid of them. I swear I had nothing to do with it, it just up and decided "hey, I'm going to go with France, because it's cool".
Essentially, it's fantasy and in a fantasy world, so I've got some leeway, but I'm wondering if there's any details I can include that would set it apart from a typical "middle ages hybrid" fantasy. Wikipedia gives me politics, which aren't much use- I'm looking more for things that would be different from your typical medieval fusion world.
If that made any sense at all ._.
Edit: we're looking at about the 13th century.
