MC has a German mother and American stepfather, and I wonder at some common places where their culture would show in how they raise their kids. Setting is roughly present-day America, New York. I know different individuals and cultures have their own way of doing things, even within the same culture, but I was looking for some very general parenting differences between America and Germany some people might have noticed, such as, how keen are they on physical affection, what style discipline do they use (I know that officially, one can't use corporal punishment on German children), and so on. I believe in terms of sex there's more European emphasis in general on 'making sure it's done safely and correctly' as opposed to the American stereotype of 'don't do it at all until you're married.' So, I'm looking for a general range of German experiences, roughly the 80s-2000s.
Research: Google, 'German versus American parenting' 'German parenting style.' Got some research paper previews and poll samples, but they weren't exactly what I was looking for.
Edit the fourth: Got what's needed, thanks!
