Slightly off-topic

I asked the mods for permission to post this and I am extremely thankful that I got the permission. Thank you very much.

Please excuse this off-topic-ness, but I need your help, dear readers, for an university class. Everything will be anonymous and I'm not going to note down your name. Alright, I'm giving you two exercises and I ask you to take this seriously. Also, I have to limit these questions to Americans and Germans. I don't want to offend anyone, but the presentation I'm supposed to hold should not be longer than twenty minutes, so I can't take every nationality into account. Sorry.

First task:

Find a picture or quote which, for you, represents America. It doesn't matter what it is; a book cover, an advertisement, a quote from a politician/starlet/author/etc., or anything else. It can be serious or humorous or tragic, whatever. The only two restrictions are; please don't write a text yourself and please make sure that the picture really represents your view on your country. You should be able to identify with it. You should be able to tell your friends and family that this picture represents you as an American. I know that this is probably not easy, but please try?

The same applies to the German readers. Just change "America" and "American" to "Germany" and "German".

Second task:

For Americans: Find a picture or quote which, for you, represents Germany. The requirements from above apply here as well. Any picture or quote is okay.

For Germans: Find a picture or quote which, for you, represents America. The requirements from above apply here as well. Any picture or quote is okay.

I do know that the second task could be problematic. If you feel uncomfortable with posting any of your pictures here in the community, because you're afraid that it might offend anyone, please send me your pictures via PM.

Also, I need some additional information. Please use this form in your post:

Age:
Country/State:
I have been to America/Germany before: Yes / No
If yes: when and why have you been there (ex. during high school, on holiday, etc.)
I had contact with Americans/ Germans that affirmed my view on them: Yes / No
I have never had contact with Americans/ Germans: Yes / No

If there are any questions about the tasks or anything else, please ask. I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you very much.
