Sleeping Cars (on Trains), late 1920s

Quick question. In the 20s and early 30s, in Europe, were there trains operational that had first-class sleeping compartments? How prohibitively expensive would that be? Did second-class have private compartments or would that be a Pullman car?

The gist is this; two characters first meet on a trans-Europe train, sharing a sleeping compartment.

Terms searched: "sleeping cars"; "train first class"; "Pullman cars".
