Math lessons in third year of college

I checked the tag for education and gave it a few attempts on google but I'm not even sure where to start. Most of the information was on first year students but that's not what I need, and it only confused me more. I'm from Germany and it seems there are a lot of differences between GER and the US on the courses you have to take for some majors.

Hopefully, someone here can help me.

I'm looking for a major the main character of my story can study at a community college that would require him in some form to take math lessons (preferably geometry or trigonometry but that's not a must) in his junior year as an undergraduate and write a math exam.
The MC can't simply study math or physics or something like that because the MC is not very good at it (not to mention doesn't like it) and I want to introduce my second MC as the tutor.

It all takes place in the present.

Thank you!

ETA: Thank you all for your kind answers and clearing up my misconception on community colleges! I found what I was looking for :)
