I've been reading and enjoying the questions and answers here for quite a while, and for the first time, I have a question of my own to ask.
I'm looking for information comparing what it was like to fly a Sopwith Camel versus a Spitfire. I've Googled "Sopwith Camel and Spitfire comparison" in various combinations, read many online articles about both planes, and watched this interesting Youtube video of the two planes flying side by side, although the only one they talk about in detail is the Sopwith Camel.
What I'd really like to know is what someone who learned to fly on a Sopwith Camel or similar First World War-era biplane would notice the first time he got into a Spitfire. I know the control systems were different, but what would he likely find the most different? How difficult do you think it would be to adjust to the changes?
Thanks for any information! I know it's an obscure question, but this community seems to excel with those!
