Setting: Steampunk AU London in the 1880s
My protagonists have tracked down and are currently pursuing a Jack the Ripper-esque serial killer. He escapes into the basement of abattoir with his latest victim. Realizing that he's outnumbered and has no chance of escaping, he sets fire to the staircase leading back upstairs, intending to trap everyone and die spectacularly.
If one of the protagonists tries to douse the fire with pig's blood, is that going to make their situation better or worse?
