Scurvy: advanced symptoms, etc.

Hello!

I'm writing a story set in the eighteenth century, a High Seas sort of thing, wherein one of the characters contracts scurvy.

Unfortunately, none of the research I have done can tell me what the progression of the disease is: how long it takes for the first symptoms to set in, how long until the victim would die, etc. Mostly what I'm looking for is an idea of the timeline.

I've already checked the Wikipedia article on scurvy, and done Google checks for the following: scurvy, symptoms, prognosis, "advanced scurvy," "scurvy & death," and in desperation typed the whole question "How long does it take to die from scurvy?" into the search engine.

Nada.

All I get is the singularly unhelpful assertion that death from scurvy is exceedingly rare now because it's easily treated with Vitamin C. Which I know, but doesn't answer my question.

I've also searched the tags here: 1700s, medicine (misc), medicine: illnesses (misc)

Can anyone help?

Roman God of Architecture/Building/Construction?

Setting: Imperial Rome

Google Search:
many combinations of roman gods/deities, myths, building, stone-workers, construction, craftsmanship etc, etc...

Google has pointed me to a couple of refereces that name Ceres as the Roman Goddess of Architecture, although most references seem to link her with agriculture instead. Hephaestus/Vulcan also came up but seems more oriented towards metal-working and blacksmithing? Ideally, I'm after a god with an afinity for building stone and rock.

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can give!

Random first-and-last name generator for Japanese

So, last month, I could have sworn I bookmarked this awesome Japanese name generator I stumbled across that you just clicked 'male' or 'female' and it generated a first and last name and even showed the kanji for it. I went looking for it today, first in my bookmarks, and did not find it, then I tried to find it through google and couldn't find a trace of the damn thing. I can find things that will throw out random Japanese given-names, but I really want one that does first and last name.

Combinations I tried:
random japanese name generator
japanese name randomizer
japanese name generator
random name generator
random name generator japanese
random japanese names
random japanese surname
japanese name generator surname

I can't remember what I'd originally put in that found me the generator I used before, but I'm pretty sure I was looking for surnames at the time.
