early childhood developement program in colleges

Chicago October 2008

Truman College, UNC (University of North Carolina), The University of Chicago

My main character wants to be a kindergarten teacher, but I can't seem to find the right program....I'm not really sure what to look for

For Truman college I found Child Development Program (AAS), but can't find anything for the University of Chicago or UNC and I need UNC because she's going to transfer

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Found the answer I needed. Thanks to those of you who helped:)

results of gene therapy

Setting: Iowa, mid-2200s

Okay so this is kind of a theoretical question since it is set in the future, but I'm sure there's some basis for my situation at the moment that people will know about.

My character - a 27-year-old male - has Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy and went blind when he was about 18, after the drugs that he'd been taking to counter it stopped working. Now at 27 he's been able to have gene therapy to rectify the disease and to all intents and purposes, it has worked.

So here are my questions:
1) How long would it most likely take after the treatment/operation for his eyesight to be at a point where he could distinguish shapes/light, and where he could see detail?
2) What sort of treatment/operation would be likely to take place?
3) What sort of side effects might crop up?

I've scoured a few journals and done a million searches, but since there's not been any substantial trials, information is very sparse. This is of course all hypothetical, but any ideas would be much appreciated on how it might all go down.

Thank you in advance!
