Travel times in Ancient Egypt

Setting: Egypt (about 55BC)

Searches: I poked around on Wiki and found a map of Egypt but it didn't have distances between the cities. I tried google searches but am frankly baffled about how I would go about finding this information.

Ok, this question is two fold:
1) How would a Roman prefect escort an Egyptian priestess from Alexandria to Tanis? They would most likely go by boat since both are port cities, yes?
2.) About how many days might a trip like this be expected to take in 55BC?

Thank you in advance for any and all help you guys can give me with this! :D
