Secret Agent Kids

For about half a decade now, the latest trent in kidvid has been the teen secret agent. Totally Spys, Kim Possible, Bratz... Because I'm apparently hard-wired to seek out plausibility, this evolution of the kid sidekick genre leaves me notably confoozled.

Why would a spy agency want to employ teenagers? The only reason I can think of is that the enemy may not be so quick to violate the human rights of captured agents, as secret agent teens aren't known for their subtlety. However, that raises the question of how they keep their jobs with no real cover to speak of...
