Monthly Paid Staff - USA

This is one I'm finding hard to look up.

In the UK almost all workers are paid monthly directly into their bank accounts with tax deducted automatically. Now I know the tax situation isn't the same but are most US workers paid monthly directly into their bank?

ETA: Thanks everyone. I didn't realise the situation was so different in the US. I've worked for US companies but have always been paid the British way. Even temp jobs here are paid monthly by bank transfer - have been for at least 20 years - so I assumed it was the same there. I'm glad I checked.

a second civil war in america and world war 3

Hello. I'm new to this community and writing in general. I've had an idea for a story playing around in my head for a couple years now, but I've never really been able to formulate it. Recently, I've been making attempts at getting at least the basics of it down on paper, but there are some things I need to figure out before others. Now, the specific question I have for you all is this: how could you concievably see civil war breaking out in the United States and eventually erupting into World War III over the next 50-100 years? I have a few ideas of my own, but I would like the opinions of others. I think I should also clarify what I mean by civil war in America. Yes, there would be citizens fighting citizens, but I'm thinking that no one would think of it as civil war. It would be seen, at least from the rebels' point of view, as forceful revolution against an oppressive government, and from the government's view as swift action against domestic terrorism. That's the sort of setting my story will be played out in, and I was hoping some of you might be able to give me ideas on how politics, possible world-events, outside influences, etc. might play a role in bringing such a future about. Thanks!
