Where: New York City, NY
I'm writing a post-WW2 story where the main character is met at Penn Station by his wartime buddy, the son of an extreeeeemely wealthy family, for the drive out of town to the friend's family estate. I'm building this opening scene around all the trappings of wealth, and mostly it should be about the car. It should be the friend's personal car, not the family limo, no chauffeur: a flashy sports car or coupe or similar kind of thing. It doesn't have to be a 1946 model car, just one that a 25-year-old super-rich young man would be driving in and out of the city. Something that draws stares. Something very expensive. I considered a Duesenberg but I'm not sure those were still made close enough to WW2 to still belong to this guy.
