Medieval town gates and curfews; tailors and spinning

In a 13th century medieval town (Hamelin, if it's relevant), would two adolescent boys be very likely to be caught if out and about after curfew? If they were caught, would they get in any trouble or just get sent home?

Also, during the day: would two boys passing out of the town gates be questioned by the guard as to what they were doing/where they were going, or would they be left to their own business?

One more question, that seems absurdly simple, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere: Would a tailor's family spin its own thread? It seems like they would, but there were so many odd guild rules and whatnot that I'm afraid to assume...
