I'm trying to find a quote, that I believe was Shakespeare, but I'm not completely certain. It went something along the lines of: it is a balm administered too late. OR it was something like: a reward oft looked for, finally given, but too late. It had something to do with someone getting something they deserved and wanted, but too late for it to do them any good (probably because they were dead).
I googled different combinations of Shakespeare, reward, quote, too late. And I've poked through my anthology of Shakespeare, but since I'm not CERTAIN it was Shakespeare... I've run out of places to look. I almost thought it was from the last scene of Hamlet, but couldn't find anything. Then I thought Romeo and Juliet, but came up empty there as well.
Anyone have any idea what this could be? Or did I just dream it up?
