I'm working on a dissertation for university. The subject is the "poison maiden", a figure of young woman nourished with poison and therefore poisonous herself (I'm talking about either plant poison or snakes - or whatever). A common example is Poison Ivy (Batman's villainess).
Does anybody know any piece of art (preferably literature, but paintings and music are fine too) that contains this character (or any mention to it)? I can read Italian, Spanish, English, Latin, Ancient Greek and a bit of French, but German is okay too (in case I'll look for a translation). It can be anything from Ancient Greece to 19th century.
Here below I'm listing what I've already found:
Myth of Echidna (Ancient Greece)
Myth of Medusa (Ancient Greece)
Vishakadatta or Visakhadatta, "The Minister's Seal" (I couldn't find the text anywhere, though)
Pseudo-Aristotle, Secretum Secretorum
Nathaniel Hawthorne, "Rappaccini's daughter"
Robert Garnett, "The Poison Maid"
Oliver Wendell Holmes, "Elsie Venner"
Poison Ivy (Batman)
Thanks in advance for any help!
