Does anyone know if albinism causes problems when getting a tattoo? I'm mostly interested in whether there are more/less risks, if the ink stays as long or as well and such.
For the plot it won't matter what color the ink used will be, and he isn't going to do the tattoo himself. The story is set in USA in 1998, but if it's a problem because of legislation or such the time can be moved with a year to either direction, but not more. What type of albinism he has isn't terribly important to the story so if that poses problems, changing it is possible although I would like to avoid it at all costs. I have always pictured him with oculocutaneous albinism type 2 (OCA2) if that's any help.
I have tried to search in the website of NOAH (The National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation), Wikipedia for the words "albinism" and "tattoo" with two different languages one of which being English, and googled with different combinations of "tattoo, risks, albinism" but found nothing that would shed any light to this.
