Transporting Bodies From Home

Hello, all! This may seem like a bit of an odd question, but does anyone know the protocol, as it were, for removing a dead body from the person's home for transport to a morgue? My female MC is far enough in a coma that she appears to be dead, and needs to be removed from her home. My other MC and his father, both doctors, have come back to her home in order to take her back with him to his medical practice (and then proceed to smuggle her out of the city), but I don't know how exactly this would be accomplished. I've googled "moving bodies" (which got me some interesting stuff on reanimated corpses...), "corpse transfer protocol", "body removal", "body removal+paramedic", and "body transport", but I haven't really been able to find anything. Can anyone help?

The story takes place in the mid-1920s in New Orleans, for the record. Thanks!

(Also, I have no idea how to tag this. Mods...?)

ETA - I mean more along the lines of how exactly she'd be taken from her bed and out of the house. Picked up and carried, stretchers...?

ETA2 - Brilliant! I'll be going with the wrap-in-sheets+put-on-stretcher method, probably before dawn to minimize neighborly exposure. Thanks so much, everyone! =)
