Latin grammar help, please.

I did some research with an online Latin dictionary to get the words I'm looking for.

Causa anquiro -- does this mean "I seek the cause/motive?" Specifically, in the context of, "I'm looking for the motive behind all this?"

Now. "Anquiro" implies that the speaker is male, correct? If the speaker is female, would it be "causa anquira?" Or some other ending? Or am I on the wrong track with this entirely?

The character in question is definitely a person who understands causality, if not her own motives-- if that helps at all with connotation, as basically, it's meant to be symbolic.

[Edit-- thanks; I have what I need now. ^_^]
