Speech Patterns

I'm writing a story which features a young, fairly upper-class British guy from the 1930s, and am wondering how he would have talked. Specifically, I'm interested in speech patterns and slang: I don't intend to write anything out phonetically, but I want to know about sentence structure, especially in casual situations.

Anything on speech patterns in general would be really helpful too, since I deal with this in other writing. I've tried Googling "British speech patterns 1930s" and "British dialect 1930s."
