Googles done: Various combinations of "map, India, Gupta, ancient, city" and possibly a couple of others I've forgotten.
My characters are going to walk towards and through a largish town. Given that this is a comic I need to have a fair idea of what they'll be passing and where everything is. Do any of you know where I could find a map or desciption of a typical town of that era? Suggestions on what to google would be useful I'm sure there's something obvious I'm missing.
I'm not super nitpicky about details but I have no idea what the town would look like, the best I've been able to find is a bunch of pictures of temples, this rather vague description and this reconstruction of a MUCH earlier era. Stuff from before or after or other similar cultures would be enough to get by on.
I haven't 100% decided just how large a town it's going to be, it may even be the capital. Certainly not a village.
I am being rather stymied by the fact that "Gupta" is a common indian surname :) And then there's Vedic city, Iowa...
