Physics

My Google and HowThingsWork-fu has failed me.

Does anyone know what the actual physics term for whatever it is one uses to pull the trigger of a gun is?

Force? Momentum?

I know force = mass applied and momentum = pressure x mass (squared).

But I don't know what the actual term is, as I repress all things math and science related.

Any help is most greatly appreciated.
