military blood sharing/receiving

Military blood donation/receiving. I've checked the stats on military blood donation, which has identical rules to civilian (six weeks after pregnancy, not after malarial country visits, wait a year after tattoos/piercings/visiting places with sand flies, etc), but what I want to know is are there any rules for sharing with the local populace.

Specifically, what would be the reaction to the local populace asking them to share blood in ceremonies - the 'blood brothers' thing.

(Yes, this is for Stargate fic - weird ceremonies are a given)

Multi-national task force. Soldiers and civilians on the team have been screened for every disease out there and tend to have at least once weekly tests for toxins and new diseases.

What I want to know is whether there would be any rules about sharing blood - definite no-no, or merely taboo? It's unlikely that the local populace would have HIV, since it's a different planet, but other diseases are entirely possible, not to mention the whole different blood type thing.

(and given that it's Stargate, several members of the teams should be disqualified for life from sharing blood as it is considering what they've had in their systems in the way of retroviruses, weird surgery, drugs, gene alteration, you name it)
