P.I. Qualifications in NY

What academic credentials (if any) would a person need before sitting for the P.I. Licensing exam in New York State? According to, it would seem that if the person has work experience, a clean record, is bondable, and has references, that's all that's required. Is that entirely accurate? Or would an undergrad degree in criminal justice or a related field also be required, as seems to be the case for California? (I've been a tad overwhelmed by Google, and I'm just trying to confirm my facts...)
