Indian Immigrants in Victorian England

I've done some searching on wikipedia and victorian web, but I'd appreciate any additional information anyone could offer.

I have an orphaned Indian girl in my Victorian fantasy novel. She works (often literally) under the table for a medium, and is about 16.

-What would she be called? I'm guessing that "Hindoo" would be common, but would a more educated person refer to her as Indian?

-What kind of Indian communities were around in 1860/1870's England? Were there any kind of established immigrant centers? If so, would they have been greatly affected by the Indian Mutiny in 1857? Would my character experience any more prejudice?
